Grande bataille
The Grande Bataille de Bicolline is an immersive, participatory event at the heart of North America’s largest medieval fantasy gathering! Let yourself be carried away by the magic of a medieval village and meet unique and colorful characters. Elves, orcs, pirates, monsters, mages, courtesans, and valiant knights gather for seven days of shows, banquets, feasts, tournaments, encounters, games, battles… leading more than 7,000 participants to an epic battle!
Vie du Duché is the cultural heart of the Grande Bataille program. From shows to youth activities, Vie du Duché strives to create a rich and diverse festive and cultural life that will appeal to all types of participants registered for the Grande Bataille. With a few exceptions, Duché activities are mostly free (no registration fees) and advance registration is not required: participants or spectators can simply show up at the start of the activity to participate or attend.
The Duché de Bicolline tournaments bring together the greatest athletes, tacticians, archers, soldiers, and thinkers from all regions and guilds. Transformed into vibrant arenas during the Grande Bataille, several game boards are dedicated to hosting the various tournaments that mark the event’s program.
Showcasing athletic prowess and combat skills on the one hand, and patience, knowledge, and strategy on the other, there is something to marvel at for all participants, whether they are registered competitors or spectators.
Combat activities are at the heart of events in the Duché de Bicolline and are enjoyed by all participants. Defined by safety regulations (weapon manufacturing standards, homologation, combat rules) and based on the spirit of fair play, these combats are supervised on the battlefield. Combat activities in the Duché de Bicolline are always reserved for people aged 16 and over and cannot take place after nightfall during the Grande Bataille.
The game, both in the field and geopolitically, is the cornerstone of the Duché de Bicolline, and its mission is dedicated to allowing players to be the living embodiment of their imagination and to live it to the fullest in a unique place that transcends reality. The Duché de Bicolline as a whole therefore exists to support the immersion and play of the participants.
The Grande Bataille is the highlight of the annual calendar, and the program includes several activities dedicated to gaming and immersion.
