Duché's Messenger
** Changes in 2024
————————————————————
A few changes in the organization for the new year:
We are pleased to announce that Martin Champagne, aka Viktor, who has been acting as Game Master, has been hired on a full-time basis to become our General Game Coordinator.
Martin has been with us for several years, and his continued presence will ensure rigor and cohesion in all elements of the game.
Here’s a word from him:

Hello people of Bicolline!
It’s both an honor and a pleasure for me to join the Duché de Bicolline team full-time as the game’s general coordinator.
My primary intention is to use the time at my disposal to improve the facets of the game that are in need of improvement. For example, in terms of geopolitics, two priorities have been set: firstly, to bring out the compendium of magic items, and secondly, to present an overhaul of the rules for the magic and occult spheres at the Bal Pourpre, so that we can put them into practice at the Grande Bataille. The golden rule for geopolitical rule changes is to present them to you at least two full seasons before they come into effect. So by presenting you with new rules at the Bal Pourpre, you’ll be able to make your FAV and orders accordingly at the end of the Bataille season. This will be followed by numerous adjustments for all other spheres.
As far as field play is concerned, the aim is to offer more and more quest sources and activity diversity, with the constant aim of serving and pleasing as many people as possible. For example, we’re working hard to ensure that all spheres of play have a rallying point during the Grande Bataille, so that anyone interested in them can find something to do. In addition to the Magic Tower and the second story of the Banque de l’Hippocampe, the Auberge will come into play at GB this year to become an additional quest distribution point. Either through a friendly innkeeper, or through a patient-looking individual, sipping too much cider and staring suspiciously at everyone. The pleasure of “questing” in the short term should be as much for those who come to Bicolline for the first time, as for those who have been frequenting the battlefield since the very beginning.
And as for coordination in general, my aim is to establish ways of proceeding that can be repeated year after year, to provide you with precise benchmarks. For example, guidelines for opening registrations, which should always take place two weeks in advance for campaigns, one month in advance for the Bal Pourpre, and on May 1 of each year for the Grande Bataille. The aim is to avoid any unpleasant surprises, and also to make sure you’re not caught unprepared.
In short, I want to put a little oil in the gears of a machine that’s already running at full speed! It goes without saying that I won’t be able to do all this on my own. I know I can count on all the people involved, whether salaried or volunteers, and I also hope to be able to count on the collaboration of all you passionate players.
If you have any questions or comments, my e-mail address is open 24/7!

** New coordination for the Grande Bataille
————————————————————
Staecy Lee Mckenzie takes over from Étienne Simard as general coordinator of the Grande Bataille.
Staecy has been assistant coordinator of the Grande Bataille for almost 10 years, and will share the coordination with veteran Hugo Peloquin.
Let’s wish them every success and look to the future with trepidation and enthusiasm.
** Your GB 2024 coordination team
————————————————————
On January 28, the majority of GB coordinators and managers met to discuss the progress and challenges of the Grande Bataille 1024.
The smiles on our faces speak volumes about the fun that awaits us this year.
** Did you know?
————————————————————
This year’s 27th Grande Bataille also marks the 30th anniversary of the Duché de Bicolline…
In fact, the first adventurers to set foot on Duché soil did so in 1994, during the first scenario on Seahorse soil: “Les Griffes du Chaos”, imagined and written by a certain Belgian…
We’ll have plenty of opportunities to mark this anniversary throughout the year.
